I grew up in DuPage County and graduated from Hinsdale Central in 1981.  I received an Associates degree in Criminal Justice in 1984 from College of DuPage and worked as a retail Loss Prevention Manager for I. Magnin for several years before getting hired as an Oak Brook Police Officer in 1987. I earned a promotion to Sergeant in 1999. I served as Oak Brook's first K-9 handler from 1993-2000. I am married and have one son who turned three in January.  Among my many specialty assignments as an Officer, I served as a Field Training Officer, Crash Reconstructionist, Juvenile Officer, Breathalyzer Operator, Bicycle Officer, Detective Sergeant, Division Commander, Internal Affairs Investigator, and Supervisor of the E-911 Communications Center.  In 1999 I completed the Northwestern University Supervision of Police Personnel (SPP) program. In 2001 I earned a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Social Justice (CSJ) from Lewis University and in 2002 a Masters of Arts Degree in Organizational Leadership.  I also completed the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command  (SPSC) in 2002.  I left in 2007 after twenty years of serving in almost every role within the department.  Until March 2009 I was an Operations Manager for AirServ Corporation supporting United Airlines at O'Hare Airport. AirServ then lost the United contract. Also since 2007 I have conducted private investigations, surveillance, and civil service of process. My flexible schedule for the past few years has allowed me to spend quite a bit of time with my son and not have to put him in daycare. Now that my son is old enough for pre-school I am looking for a full-time career position where I can utilize my education, training, and experience. Hobbies include auto racing, travel, and photography. I also donate my services as Webmaster for the Illinois Police Work Dog Association (ILPWDA).
